I just got to the YJC rite after the debate finals. The standings are :
1.Helang
2.Seladang
3. Harimau
4. Beruang
I didn't pay much attention during the debate actually, my stomach's still acting up like crazy and yesterday, I slept a lot... very early too. For those of you who know me... Taking naps, going to sleep at 8, so on and so forth... is NOT me at all... Haiizz... Well anyways, I started on my new book, Ritual written by Graham Masterton, this morning during the debate... It's a very fascinating read but it is definitely NOT for the weak of heart... I felt really nauseated when I read certain parts of the book... ewwhhh... Well, the core part of the book is about a secret society obviously, considering the title... a secret society which practises cannabilism... volountarily... by eating their own flesh and blood until they release their soul and spirit... *pukes* Seriously, not for the weak of heart, the writer describes it really, really closely too... *shudders* Nightmares!
Sophia, Shu Lynn and Cindy just walked by, ooh, they came in now! Lol. Well, now we're ALL using the comp's! muahahahaha! hmm... I'm watching a music video by Jay Chou, Ting Ma Ma De Hua on YouTube.
Raymond was playing it during the break of the debate... I was like, whoa, I didn't know Raymond caould play that well! XD Sophia played a few Bethoven pieces as well, she was really good but she later told me that she was like really scared and nervous! Yikes. Hehe...
Well, I promised you readers that I'll post about Talentime... I've also gotten a few questions and messages asking me wut Talentime is. uhmm... it's basically an annual talent competition in Cempaka, Cheras. The categories in which the students may enter are solo vocals, solo dance, solo instrumental, duet/group vocals, duet/group dance, duet/group instrumentals and band. The most popular categories which usually capture the attention of the audience would be the group dances and battle of the bands. Dance is usually dominated by Cheras students while Damansara students are really talented in jam sessions and musical talent. Winners of all the categories were as follows:
Solo vocals:
1. Jia Hui (I think datz her name. She sang the song Hilary Duff performed in the movie Raise Your Voice) She has a wonderfully strong and tuneful voice, but it is also a little harsh and her chinese accent comes out in full blow in this song.
2. Leon Ang ( Leon as usual, has a powerful and strong voice, but the song wasn't really right for his voice. His voice did the best it could of course, but the constant changing of key strained it and it appeared a little obvious at times.)
Solo Instrumental: 1. Wong Beng Ian ( Ian really tore up the piano this year, it was kinda aggresive but interesting.)
There was only 3 performers for this category actually, a 12 year old guy performed Fantasy Impromptu, he is AMAZINGLY talented. whoa!! Well, a Damansara guy (I don't know his name either) performed The Bumble Bee on bass guitar, and his fingers moved so fast that it was pretty much a blur. Once again, practise and talent in play. He also looked like he really enjoyed his music and he had good showmanship. =D
Solo Dance:
1. Some Damansara gal (She was really energetic throughout her dance. The music was tribal and really fast. She spent most of her time dancing on tip top, her legs must be really strong, she remained stable throughout the entire dance.
Duet vocals
1. Leon and gang ( Hehe, I don't rememeber everyone! LOL They're performance was really theatre and about alley Q? Lol. Title was It Sucks To Be Me. Very interesting performace indeed!)
Group Dance
1. FRREAK@ISH! (The best of the lot! I've never enjoyed this good a dance performance with such unique concepts and ideas before! =D Good work maintainin the group energy guyz! This was actually a really suprising show cause I've never actually seen the Form 4 chinese group perform before. WWRY must've done them good. ;p I really hope I can see them perform again soon.
2. Progressive Phunk ( As usual, great music, great moves, great cover. I LURVED the great fashion! one simple wraparound skirt with hanging bells and chains? Great way to add femality to a simple pair of jeans, easy, cheap and DIY if you want it. =D
3. Canned Heat ( Quite good, consists of Damansaran prefects. Not a very memorable performance though...)
Group Instrumentals and Band wasn't really that nteresting for me... I kinda forgot most of it... =P Though I must say that I really liked My479's band! Rock on guys! Last year's performance really caught my eye too! =D
Well, I started this post in the YJC room, but now I'm finishing it the IT class! LOL The teacher wanted to conduct a workshop for the Form 3's on how to create blogs. Obviously, half the Form 3's present today already have their own blog or even 2 or 3!!! Hehe... big shock for our IT teacher I think. =P Well, I better go, gotta help Sophia and Cindy with their blog accounts and spam Sufiz's blog! hehe!
